Our Heat Exchanger systems are the simplest, easy-to-install alternative to polyethylene pipe pond loop or cooling tower systems!

We take pride in offering two primary heat exchanger designs - the Slim Jim® and Geo Lake Plate®. Both of these options are not only cost-efficient but also environmentally friendly, serving as a convenient:

"POND LOOP IN A PACKAGE"

It's worth noting that even though the plates for each system share the same dimensions, we customize designs and quotes for every job. This customization is based on the unique environmental conditions, usage requirements, and water composition, ensuring that we always recommend the best fit for your specific needs.

The Slim Jim® is available in 304 Stainless Steel

  • Primarily for fresh water applications, including lakes, ponds, reservoirs, and even moving rivers

  • Unlimited configurations: from single plates for small systems, to multiple arrays of exchangers each comprised of multiple stainless steel plates

  • Custom low-profile units available for shallow waters

  • Configurations are designed based on the application, and the exchangers can be custom design when necessary

  • Easy to install and contractor / labor friendly

  • Easy to flush and maintain

The Geo Lake Plate® option is a Titanium set of plates used primarily for salt water or brackish water applications. This includes aquariums, brackish lakes, bays, and even coastal rivers.

  • Titanium option is also necessary when installed at sites that are in close proximity to salt and/or brackish water**

  • Also available in 316 stainless steel* for versatile applications

  • Unlimited configurations: from single plates for small systems, to multiple arrays of exchangers each comprised of multiple plates

  • Configurations are designed based on the application, and the exchangers can be custom designed when necessary

  • Easy to maintain and simple to flush

  • Straightforward installation processes which are contractor / labor friendly

Titanium plates are necessary to avoid corrosion if salt/brackish bodies of water flood over and spill into the water where the lake plates are located.

Slim Jim® - Geo Lake Plate® Installation Requirements / Criteria

Slim Jim logo with a textured metallic background and text that says "GEO LAKE PLATE" in black letters on a purple banner with a white outline, below the main logo.

Single plate or assembly(s) must be installed to stand or suspend/hang1 vertical completely submerged in a body of water.

  • The fluid flow from the Heat Pump(s) or Chiller(s) equipment must enter the lowest connection on the Slim Jim® / Geo Lake Plate® plate or assembly(s). The fluid flow returning to the Heat Pump(s) or Chiller(s) equipment must exit the highest connection on the Slim Jim® / Geo Lake Plate® assembly. This will ensure any air remaining air the system will not be trapped in the Slim Jim® / Geo Lake Plate® assembly.

  • The body of water must be adequate to accommodate the load requirements.

  • The single plate or assembly(s) must be supported off the bottom above silt or mud. This can

be accomplished with legs or other means (see examples).

  • The single plate or assembly(s) can be suspended1 from piers or docks, but must be secured

and protected for the conditions in which they are installed.

  • The recommended minimum installation depth should be 3' to 4’ of water from the top of plates. In northern climates we recommend a minimum of two (2) foot clearance beneath freeze line and top of plates.

  • Slim Jim® 304 Stainless Steel is recommended for “Fresh Water Applications Only”

  • Geo Lake Plate® 316L Stainless Steel is recommended for “Fresh Water Applications Only”

  • Geo Lake Plate® Titanium is recommended for “Brackish and Seawater Applications”
